Forex reserves up by $39.4 mn to $296.58 bn

The Forex reserves of India increased by $39.6 million to $296.578 billion on the back of rise in currency assets during the week ended December 28, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) said on January 4, 2013.

Foreign currency assets, a major component of the forex reserves, were up by $63.9 million to $262.01 billion for the week ended December 28, 2012.

The total reserves had slipped by $92.8 million to $296.539 billion in the previous reporting week.
