Government expects 5.7-5.9% Economic Growth this fiscal

The Government of India expects that the economy to grow between 5.7-5.9 per cent in the current financial year, which is much lower than 7.6 per cent projected in the Economic Survey.

This estimate has come out in the Mid-Year Economic Review tabled in Parliament on December 17, 2012.

The Finance Ministry also estimates inflation to moderate to 6.8-7 per cent by March 2013. It also says that trade deficit would not be significantly higher than last year.
