IBPS PO 2013, IBPS PO 3 – How to Give Bank Preference during IBPS CWE PO/MT-III Registration?
The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS), Mumbai has issued the notification of Common Written Examinations (CWE) for the recruitment of Probationary Officers/ Management Trainee (PO/MT) in Nationalized Banks – CWE PO/MT-III. Candidates can apply online for the CWE PO/MT-III from 22/07/2013 to 17/08/2013.
Unlike previous years, IBPS has asked the aspiring candidates to fill up their bank preferences at the time of registration itself which is a nightmare for many candidates. Last year, only candidates qualified in CWE and Common Interview (CI) were allowed to fill up their preferences and IBPS had issued the list of vacancy in each banks, which helped many to fill up their preferences. But this year, the scenario is completely different. So, here i have explained some points which you may consider while filling up your preferences.
How to Give Bank Preference during IBPS CWE PO/MT-III Registration?
There are two ways you can look at it, either you can give it based on ranks or you can give based on presence in your state.
Based on Ranks:
Bank of Baroda (BOB), Punjab National Bank (PNB), Bank of India (BoI), Canara Bank,Union Bank of India (Union Bank) arguably these are the best banks in the business in the country but little it has to do with employees, end of the day all bank are facing manpower crunch, basic promotional rules are set by government with little freedom left to banks. You have to wait for 2-3 years for promotion and salaries are same in Nationalized Bank but perks may differ upto 2-3k.
Again Corporation Bank (Corp Bank) doesn’t feature in top-5 or but yet it is often said to be one of the good banks & does offer good perks like i mentioned above.
Based on Presence in Your State:
Probationary Officers/ Management Trainees (PO/MTs) have all India service liability, So even if you are posted in your state sooner or later, may be after 2-3yrs its more likely you will be posted outside your state. But yes it might be a good idea to give preferences to bank with higher presence as at-least it will give a fair chance for coming back to state or at-least spend fair share of job life in your zone.
Again views may differ person to person, their is a state-wise list of bank branches it can give you an indication, if you are too bothered, do a bit of homework,go to individual bank’s website & check number of branches in your state using branch locator or just search in Google as branch locator ABCD Bank.
Note- Don’t confuse yourself too much with banks, no bank is either heaven or hell, it might get messy if u try to get both of the above, so my suggestion is decide one thing you want & then give preference in it.
