The much awaited notification of Common Written Exams (CWE) for Clerk has been issued by the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS). But, this time the IBPS will conduct the Common Written Exam (CWE) in Online Mode unlike previous CWEs which were conducted in Offline Mode and this time IBPS has also changed the required Educational Qualifications to appear in the exam.

So, there are hundreds of question floating around about this Online Common Written Exam. Here is some Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs).

What is the tentative date of the Online Common Written Exam (CWE)?

There is no confirm date announced by the IBPS but the Online CWE Exam will be after December 3, 2012.

What will be the language of question paper? Hindi/ English or Both?

The questions will be asked in both – Hindi and English language.

Is the Exam Pattern same like before?

More or less the exam pattern will be same as before. Last time there were five section with 50 questions with 50 marks and total marks were 250 but this time also there are five section with 40 questions with 40 marks and total marks will be 200.

This time you need to your Mouse, Keyboard and Computer instead of Pen, Pencil and paper.

Duration / Time period of Examination?

The Online CWE will be of 2 hours.

Confusion over Computer Knowledge and Computer Certificates?

Operating and working knowledge in computer systems is mandatory i.e. a candidates should have Certificate/Diploma/Degree in computer operations/Language/ should have studied Computer / Information Technology as one of the subjects in the High School/College/Institute.

It means if you have studied Computer in School or College as a Subject, then you don’t need any computer certificates and vice-verse.

How to do rough work in the exam?

The Exam Centre will provide you blank sheet for rough work. So carry your pen and pencil with you.

Is there any option for offline Common Written Exam?

No, this time the CWE will be conducted online.

Is there any scope for 10+2 passed candidates?

No.

How the identity of candidates will be verified this time?

Previous Online Tests of ICICI bank, BoB- Manipal School of Banking suggests that before you enter the exam hall, you need to verify all required things. During the exam they may give you an attendance sheet/ thumb impression sheet like before.

What if I choose the wrong answer?

Not a problem. You can correct them. But everything will depend on the web application/ software IBPS is going to use.

But, we advice you to avoid guessing and marking the doubtful answers as it will be a time consuming matter and you may confuse at the end.

If a candidate leave one question keeping in mind that you will do it later on then can we do that question later?

Generally you can. But, it will depend on the Software/ Web Application IBPS is going to use.

Can i verify my answers after completing the whole paper?

Yes, You can. You can just visit the appropriate section and can check the answers.

But everything will depend on the web application/ software IBPS is going to use.

What if the server is slow during the Online Common Written Examination?

Well the IBPS will never allot exam centres which don’t have the capacity/ability to conduct the online test. Either IBPS will hire private organizations which conducts online tests (ex. MeritTrac) or will allot Computer Lab of Engineering and Management Colleges.

I’ve done DCA / ADCA / PGDCA after my graduation/ post graduation, am i eligible for the exam?

As already explained above, Yes you are eligible for the exam.

    Hi Frend, Can you plz throw some light on the following concerns :
    1)What is the job profile of PO , what exactly is the work requirement? Does it involve too much work ,and will there be adequate time to prepare for UPSC while working as PO??
    2)What is the starting salary of a PO ?
    3)What are the career stages of a PO , the next rank and promotions etc?

    Do we need to submit each session seperately.. or else, all the paper at once ?!
    If not individually, its better to provide a time limit for each session.. so that, all the sessions can be covered. As the time limit is not ample, not every one is able to answer atleast 30 questions from each session.

    hi, I have applied yesterday for the ibps cwe SO scale-1 , when I was making an online payment and after entered all the details regarding my debit card and when I pressed OK Button, section had been already expired, now if you can tell me what should I do to make a payment again, tomorrow(16-12-2013) is last day to payment.please help me out….ASAP.
