Union Bank of India, one of the leading public sector banks in India, is planning to recruit around 4000 people in 2012-2012 financial year.
Chairman and Managing Director of Union Bank, Mr D. Sarkar said that the bank has nearly 3,300 branches across the country and it’s planning to increase it’s branch network. Union Bank of India will open around 300 branches this fiscal and will recruit more people to work in these new branches.
With the expansion plans on the way, recruitment will also follow. The bank may need to recruit around 4,000 people. Stating that it is a rough estimation, he said the requirement includes officers and clerical staff.
Terming the recruitment as an ongoing process, Mr Sarkar said nearly 2,500 officers are in the process of joining the bank this fiscal. Union Bank of India, which has around 3,850 ATMs in the country, will increase it to nearly 5,000 ATMs by the end of the current fiscal.
This is a very good step by Union Bank. It will create more employment and at the same time it will help banks to achieve its goal for this fiscal. According to C & MD of Union Bank, Banks to recruit around 4000 officers and Clerk this fiscal and 2500 officers are in the process of joining the bank. So, there is a vacancy of 1500 for clerk which to be filled in this fiscal.
