Ahmed Maitiq sworn-in as the new Prime Minister of Libya

Ahmed Maitiq was on May 26, 2014 sworn-in as the new Prime Minister of Libiya. 42-year old Ahmed Maitiq became the youngest and the fifth Prime Minister of Libya since dictator Moammar Gadhafi was toppled and killed in a 2011 revolution.

He became the Prime Minister after winning the confidence vote in the Parliament on 25 May 2014.

He took oath of his office before Nuri Abu Sahmain, the President of the General National Congress, Libya’s transitional Parliament.
