Hariharan to get Madhya Pradesh govt’s Lata Mangeshkar award.

Noted playback singer Hariharan Conferred With the Lata Mangeshkar Samman AlankaranSinger Hariharan 2013 at a ceremony at the Nehru Stadium here May 21, 2013.

Madhya Pradesh Industries Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya and Culture Minister Laxmikant Sharma presented the award to the 58-year-old singer. Hariharan, who is the 28th recipient of the award, was given Rs. 2 lakh cash, a plaque, shawl and a coconut.

The singer is known for his famous renditions in Hindi films like “Roja,” “Bombay,” “Jeans,” “Taal,” “Shivaji,” “Guru,” “Border” and “Virasat.”
