India, Australia join hands for protecting foodgrains from insects

India and Australia join hands for protecting food-grains from insects. A research project titled ‘Ensuring food security: Harnessing Science to protect foodgrains from insect threats’ – would aim at developing sustainable strategies for enhancing the efficacy of phosphine – a fumigant for controlling insect infestation in stored food grains.

This three-year collaborative research project between India and Australia has been sanctioned by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India to the Tamil Nadu Agricultural University in Coimbatore.
