K Chandrasekhara Rao sworn in as first Chief Minister of Telangana

Telangana Rastra Samithi (TRS) chief K Chandrasekhara Rao, popularly known as KCR, was on June 2, 2014 sworn in as the first Chief Minister of the 29th State of the Indian Union – Telangana.

K Chandrasekhara RaoThe 60-year-old KCR was administered the oath of office by Governor of Telangana ESL Narasimhan at a function at the Raj Bhavan.

The name Telangana is thought to have been derived from the word Trilinga, as in Trilinga Desa, which translates to “the country of the three lingas”.
