Mohun Bagan banned from I-League for two years – AIFF

Mohun Bagan banned from I-League for two years by All India Football Federation (AIFF).

Mohun Bagan, India’s oldest soccer club, have been kicked out of the i-league and banned for a further two years after refusing to take the field for the second half of their crowd trouble-hit derby against East Bengal in Kolkata on December 9.

The I-League core committee met here on Saturday and endorsed the report submitted by the one-man committee of A.K.Ganguly, a retired Supreme Court Judge.

Ganguly in his report has said that Mohun Bagan’s decision for not playing the match after the interval cannot be supported on the grounds of Force Majeure and accordingly the club breached Regulation 22 of the I-League Regulation 2012-2013. Photo Courtesy: Suvechchha Saha
