Narendra Modi resigned as Gujarat CM to take over as PM

Narendra Modi on May 21, 2014 resigned as the Chief Minister of Gujrat to take over as the Prime Minister of India. He handed his resignation to Kamla Beniwal, the Governor of Gujrat during a special session of the Gujarat Assembly.

Under the leadership of Mr. Narendra Modi Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) won the 282 seats and BJP led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) won 336 in the recently concluded General Election.

Narendra Modi will be sworn-in as the Prime Minister of India on May 26, 2014 at Rashtrapati Bhawan, New Delhi.
