Prime Minister of South Korea Chung Hong-Won resigned

South Korean Prime Minister Chung Hong-won resignedChung Hong-won from his post on April 27, 2014 over the government’s inability and untimely response to the ferry disaster that happened on April 16, 2014.

The President Park Geun-hye accepted the resignation of Chung, but he will remain in post until the rescue operation was completed.

He was the first nominated Prime Minister candidate of Park Geun-hye’s government. He was sworn-in as Prime Minister of South Korea from Great National Party on 26 February 2013.
