Rajiv Mathur became new Chief Information Commissioner

Mr. Rajiv Mathur on May 22, 2014 took over as the new Chief Information Commissioner (CIC). Former IB chief’s name was recommended for the post of CIC by a three member panel headed by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.

The 64-year old Mathur’s oath to the office was administered by the President of India Shri Pranab Mukherjee at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi.

Mr. Rajiv Mathur become the sixth CIC of the Central Information Commission, he succeeded Sushma Singh.
