Sebastian Vettel became Youngest Triple Champion in Formula One History.

Red Bull driver Sebastian Vettel became youngest triple champion in the history of Formula One on 25 November 2012 by finishing 6th behind Jenson Button in the Brazilian Grand Prix.

In an incident-packed, rain-affected race, Vettel fought back to finish sixth after dropping to last on lap one following a collision.

The pervasive tension, thrilling overtakes and hazardous wet conditions made it a fitting finale to a season widely hailed as one of the greatest.

The first seven races produced seven winners in a first for the sport and lesser-known drivers found themselves challenging the biggest names. 25 year old Vettel got himself involved in opening lap collision and made very little damage to his Red Bull car in the run in rain-swept conditions at Interlagos circuit. The only title rival of Vettel was two-time champion Spaniard Fernnando Alonso who finished in the second position in his Ferrari. However he had pre-race 13 points deficit while Vettel won the title by merely three points.

Vettel was the third driver in the history of Formula One to win three consecutive titles. Others who have done this before are Michael Schumacher and Argentine Juan Manuel Fangio.
