UNESCO, Pak sign MoU to set up education fund for girls.

UNESCO and Pakistan on December 10, 2012 signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to set up a special fund for the education of girls in the country.

Pakistan has one of the world’s worst records for the education of girls. Ironically, the conference with Pakistan as chief guest was held on the World Human Rights Day.

Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari signed the agreement in Paris. The MoU was part of a conference, ‘Stand up for Malala’, to promote the education of girls.
