Flaws arises in recent CWE PO selection process

Before starting the process of Common Written Exams(CWE) , IBPS Director said in an interview with The Hindu news paper “CWE is to avoid Multiple selection of same candidate by different bank.” but now the question is that whether this problem has resolved or not?

Earlier every written qualified candidate gets an opportunity to face Personal Interview in a bank, whether they have selected in PI or not it’s a different issue. But now, only top candidates are getting repeated call. Even after 8 month wait (starting from Advt. CWE PO), rest of 1 Lakh qualified candidates didn’t even get a single chance to face PI. Now question is that whether they are written qualified or what?

Just consider bank of India as an example. Bank of India (BOI) called only top 5300 candidate (ratio 3:1), within this 2400 already selected in Union Bank, and approx. 2000 will get select in Corporation bank & Syndicate Bank together. The rest is around 1000 candidates, whom are going to appear at Personal Interview for 1800 posts in BOI. So why next level of scorer didn’t get chance to face Personal Interview? Because Union bank has already declared their result.

  • If the post remains vacant after first phase of interview, then BOI will again call for interview or those vacant posts will transfer to next CWE PO 2012 as backlog vacancies? This is important question, because lots of CWE qualified candidate has applied but till date they didn’t get chance to face interview.

During Advt., all banks publish a low cut off, then before PI they are raising Cut off, so why did not bank call people according to the cut off given in advt.?

Selection of candidate in nationalized bank through CWE process is creating lots of controversies in recent times. So it’s our request to the Director of IBPS to correspond with member bank officials to overcome such problems. The recent controversy in selection is not only harmful to the qualified candidates but also to the bank. So we expect that Bank as well as IBPS will understand the problems and will definitely try to find some interim solution.

  1. definitely some steps should have taken to stop this overlapping problem otherwise lots of seats will remain vacant this time

  2. agar ibps ko 19 bank me 20000 po select karant hai to 600000 student ko interviw ke liye bulana chahiye . aur 600000 condidate ke according cutt-off fix kare. sabhi ka interviw 19 bank milkar kare. no other obition is better than it challenge.

    • or else they should make some preference based system, that candidate should select 5 banks for interview as per their score.

  3. ibps is creating so much confusion in the minds of qualified candidates,there should be some planned and convenient strategy to recruit people,even ibps have not disclosed highest marks in po,so that candidate may analyse its position and why there are double cut off policy,

    first we accept the comment of ibps director Mr. M. Balachandran as the total number of people applying for bank position is several times higher than the vaccancy. But one thing we can communicate is that the exam conduted by IBPS  PO is a competitive exam and it is not a school level or a college level exam where we only go according through marks
    Here in banks more practical knowledge and management skills are required to excel at work as many experts aware of that, but still this idea is not reflecting in any of the recruitment teams of the announced banks so far, is really disgusting.
    For a SC category min TWS announced by Syndicate bank was 150 for interview, canara bank–146, Union bank–149, Corporation Bank–162.
    the message which i want to communicate behind the whole story is that, a canditate who have secured 135 out of 150 in written exam will be more talented in management & practical knowledge, since it is a competitive exam a matter of time will change the scores of the canditates,
    any how the personal interview or GD carries a separate score apart from the written exam score, canditates who scores more altogether are finally given appointment, there are definetely many chances where a canditate score more in written & less in interview & vice versa.
    rather than targetting only few people who have secured 160 & above, some banks can come up and give chances to people to attend interview who have secured 135 & above and this will definetely improve the productivity & efficiency in business.
    all the notification announced banks can start their interview process immediately once their closing dates for applying are over which will give chances to many people in different scores.

  5. Ibps should make a database of converted candidates. once a candidate convert his call and willing to join the respective bank should not be allowed or selected by other banks…

  6. 1000 candidates in BOI for 1800 post den why BOI wasting time in Interview. They can simply give job on d basis of IBPS Score.

  8. i got 128 tws in po exam and i belongs to OBC, i have more than 75% in my graduation,without any coaching(with my own preparation)i got qualified .Merit students also there under 130 tws.  I really need this job give me a chance sir not only me many more students are asking for the chance.i’m really frustrating this selection process.. plz don’t give more than 3 chances for each students if not,many students didn’t gatting chance..
    Not only tws consider many other things to call the students for interview…. plz plz plz plz sir

    what can we do if this process will go? many students will not get the single opportunity for the pI.but only the candidates holding higher marks will get opportunity again and again.if the top honchos of ibps consider this problem many candidates will get the opportunity

  17. I think once a candidate get post in one particular bank his/her card should get invalid.Then everyone may get equal chance

    I think this is a serious problem.IBPS shoud look into this matter more seriously.I have got 155 in obc category.But still to get any interview call.

      “I , resident of a small town Jhansi, belongs to a lower Middle class Family,
      have appeard for the Papers being conducted by NON STATUTORY body IBPS for common banking exam for P.O., which I had Qualified not with flying colours but with average marks.

      I got a glimplse of hopes that i can appear for Interview in banks now.after banks have announced their advertisement for the said Posts, with specified Cuttoff..under which I come under

      After filling almost 11-12 banks challan,in which was in their criteria, they are not wiiling to lower their cut of for interviews and repeatedly allowing only those candidate who are above the range and their by candidate who had filled up challan of 200 each are always on loosing side..
      fr example they asking student above 120 marks to fill up challan, and taking interview of above 166 or say 170…
      whats the reason behind making fill the form for students with lower marks of whats the reason behind IBPS passing that much amount of student..”IS IT NOT MERE A BUSINESS OR WHAT”
      I just through you medium wanted to no ” HUM BINA PASS HUE ACCHEE THEY… PASS HOKE BI HUM QUALIFIED NAHI HO SAKE”.
      Its costing about 2000-4000 for filling up the challans for the interview only which might not be even a earning of a normal individual
      They have Just made the way of earning .
      Its not the Voice of an individual , but as a voice of a MOB as whole who have qualified this Exam.

  22. The same problem will be arised in Clerical recruitment also. Please some of the  authorities speak out.

  23. Another problem is that, the banks didn,t mention separate cut off marks for Ex-servicemen candidates, who are entitled for 14.5% reservation.

  24. Every bank must call candidates for interview again after completion of 1st list.Vacancies should not carry forward for next exam.

    with due respect i want to say that the change in the process of selection for the banks by ibps is meant for the betterment or just to earn a good amount of money  by fooling the candidates and shattering their dreams and hopes, if 150 TWS would have been the passing score then tens of thousands of candidates would have been failed, but it would have been a better result as they would have never expected to get a call for an interview.
    As announced by ibps that the change in the recruitment process is meant to curb the chances of multiple selection of a candidate in different banks but this new process of recruitment is worst ever and far behind the previous one, sir please can u answer me one question WHY ONLY AROUND 12000 CANDIDATES FROM THE TOP SCORE RECIEVED A CALL FROM AROUND 15 BANKS DECLARING A TOTAL OF APPROXIMATELY 16000 VACANCIES +-5%  EVEN AFTER CALLING IN THE RATIO OF 3:1 FOR AN INTERVIEW  in general point of view for 16000 bank po vacancies there would have been a call for around 48000 candidates in the ratio of 3:1 .
    this is totally absurd the call of a single candidate multiple times resulted into this situation that only 12000 candidates recieved a call for 16000 vacancies.
    this system of recruitment have become a source of good income as the criteria for filling up the form for interview require minimum TWS 120 but the call for interview is given above TWS162 that means the total applicants are around 50000 and the total amount ganerated by a single bank is 1 crore and the candidates called for interview is at the maximum of 5000 for 1500 vacancies then what about the money which is paid by 45000 candidates which AMOUNTS IN TOTAL TO 9000000  i.e ninety lakhs  .   is this a joke that ninety lakh rupees are earned for the recruitment of 1500 candidates 
    like this if all the banks are doing the same then the total amount collected would be around 15 crores

    What if banks release second list ? should candidates pay the fees once again ? its very clear that candidates have been cheated. whats the use of clearing an exam where we had to compete with lakhs of students just to pay money and not get qualified for interviews is just absurd. No refund no jobs…. not even has the government fooled us but job aspirants have been fooled everywhere so easily.

    • I have heard some candidates even bribe in personal interviews to officials. Even some have setting in one or the other bank by some connection. One friend even told me his friend had his father employed in RBI, he intervened in the bank interview and his son was selected. I DO NOT WANT TO BELIEVE THIS, but this is TRUE. Where would all go yaar if this would go like this. 

  31. This is called utter mess. And this is a result of lack of coordination between different agencies and stakeholders. This is totally unfortunate situation for all the bank job seeker that an organization like Indian Banking Association could not monitor or presume this problem earlier. This situation is a result of lack of proper planning and unprofessional approach to say the least. We should all be vocal against this injustice to a higher forum.    

  32. subhankar cordination is not the issue cordination toh maximum hae but to snatch money what is the logic calling 128 TWs and selecting 164 36 marks is a big big gap just to screen the applications lekin fir bhi all banks did it repeatedly and now they are selecting one candidate for many banks as again for lalach as they hope if any candiate leaves a bank they will get money of bond which is again profit..
    sale chor kisi kae father advocate nahi hae kya joo free main case lade coz i cant afford the fees beshak they wont stop current recruitment lekin agae kae liye they should get a true lesson

  34. Why Banks are not giving the number of vaccancies to IBPS prior to written examination? I am very surprised that this examination is not a competetive exam but it is just like school exam in which upto a certain criteria the students are declared as pass. IBPS should declare the name of  qualified candidates in the ratio of vaccancies given by member banks. What is the need to declare 1.1 lac candidates where as vaccancies are around 19000 only. As per my view the number of pass candidates should only be 57000 against 19000 posts. Secondly it is a game of making money from IBPS and Member Banks because firstly the candidate  spends 400/- or 500/- for appearing in exams. Thereafter Individual Banks call the candidates upto a certain TWS, then shorlists the candidates  upto a certain TWS and earning money also from the candidates who are not called for interview. Then why they are not refunding the money from the candidates who apply for vaccancis are not called for interview. It is only the game of making money from IBPS and Member Banks

  36. Banks are  Skimming money from IBPS clerk and PO Exam qualified candidates they will publish Low cut off for interview and shortlist only for high score candidateS, If the banks need only high score candidate why do not mention high cut off in their notification.
    here suffering only low score candidate they are loosing money unless getting interview call
