They prefer to give the ‘correct’ answer rather than the ‘true’ answer.
According to Mr Ramakrishnan, “Very rarely do we ask questions on the
subject they have studied. We try to find out if: a) the candidate is
really interested in banking as a career; b) he will stick to the job;
and c) ordinary graduates/undergraduates stand a better chance of
getting selected rather than highly qualified technical persons.

eg:- if u have 130 marks in bihar may u not get a call in any bank but u with 130 marks in gujrat u must get a call from any bank.

hey frens i dont think that less than 160 will get an interview call..these people are making a fool out of us and nothing else…earlier they say that everybody (say some min marks)is eligible but then cutoff for interview goes so high…..the analysis report they are giving it now….when everybody has filled almost all forms based on ibps po….
my suggestion is if ur score is less than 163 please do not wait for any call.start working for next exam and score high…….

sir, may i know how the banks shortlist the candidates for the general category. does that consider only the candidates who have marked as general while applying for the ibps exam or does it consider all candidates who top the merit list irrespective of their category. This has been my doubt since very long. i have cleared the cutoff fixed for the obc candidates in the ibps clerk exam and has been declared qualified. On the other hand, i havent cleared the cutoff fixed for the general candidates i.e. 24 marks in each section.
Now my question is will i be considered only for the vacancies in the OBC category or i shall be considered for the vacancies in the General category as well?

Respected Sir, We are very grateful for the opportunity given by IBPS for conducting exam and releasing the results in a short period of time. But we are little bit confused about the cutoff marks. If the qualified candidates are not given any opportunity for interview then What is the difference between Qualified Candidates and Unqualified Candidates? At least reserved candidates should be given opportunity to appear for interview Sir.

The cause of termination trend due to the candidates high qualification and newly generating glamour opportunities. I think in the light of all the above aspects this year will have about 2 lakhs vacancies will be reported for the concerned banks this year. In my calculation if one who scored 150 and above in general category and 140 and above in obc and 130 and above in other category may have chance for interview. I, Jeevanshu Karmakar , have scored 138 . Recently there is advertisement from Dena Bank for recruitment of clerk , and those who qualify in IBPS CWE can apply , but when they have published short-listed candidates for interview for New Delhi ” Cut off marks” 181. I do not under-stand why they would have not mentioned cut-off marks in advertisement so candidate could not apply who are below the cut-off. This is totally wrong. Also let me know who will refund Rs 150.00 to me.

I would also like to inform you that those who got high marks, it does not mean they will be good candidate for this job, so kindly discuss this issue in Governing Body and call everyone from this you would get good candidate whose marks are below their expectation.

In SSC who qualify for written test they give the opportunity to everyone merit-wise and Ministry-wise.

Kindly discuss this issue .

I secured 154 and the cutoff for C.G. is 155…that means i could not attend the interview for only 1 mark…where as SC/ST can attend with only 144/132 res.
Just as the gift given by IBPS system to SC/ST and we have done some mistake to be one general candidate.
Favour in money matter can be justice and this is just injustice with us..
One day come when every employee of every bank will be one SC/ST..

Is this the right selection procedure of IBPS…

  I too come undr general category.. Reservation procedure has not been started by IBPS… According to the constitution, everyone follows it. One shouldnot blame constitution.. The SC, ST candidates r so downtrodden.. they should come up… U may think tht i do not come under general cat.. My name is sashi frm andhra.. scored 183 frm general cat.. But i support the reservation..

I have scored 139 marks (SC) in IBPS clerk exam and i belong to Delhi. Every bank disclose only few vacancies in Delhi they want the people who scored more than 180+ for calling interview. If there is only chance of students who secured more than 180 from Delhi, then why IBPS declared the students qualified in Clerk who secured only 105 marks in IBPS Clerk. IBPS and Bank are playing with the people and making money.
