United Bank of India (UBI) will recruit more than 1500 people in clerical cadre to enrich their rural operation. Bhaskar Sen, the CMD of United Bank of India says,“As part of our strategy of enhancing rural operations, we have decided to recruit nearly 2,000 staff including officers and clerks soon. The recruitment will be conducted by the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS).”

The bank also looks forward to open up seven new branches in Assam. Currently, the state with its network of 187 branches has deep roots in the north east region and plans to open ultra small branches in remote areas that would cover a near population of 5000 people. The UBI has covered 406 villages under the Financial Inclusion Programme under the authoritative Reserve Bank of India.
